01Scenario

Our client initially chose to proceed with their ERP transformation programme without adopting the Insight tool, opting instead for a traditional Excel-based tracker. Over the course of nine months, the lack of real-time visibility into risks and progress significantly hindered effective decision-making.

These issues culminated in a no-go decision, resulting in a six-month delay to the programme and an estimated financial impact of £1 million. The experience underscored the critical need for a robust, data-driven tool to manage complex change at scale.

02Solution

Within two weeks of the no-go decision, the Insight tool was swiftly implemented to replace the ineffective impact tracker Excel spreadsheet. This transition enabled the change team to move away from manual tracking and instead harness real-time, dynamic reporting capabilities.

With greater visibility into progress, the team was able to monitor actions, identify bottlenecks, and escalate issues where needed. The use of Insight helped embed a stronger culture of accountability and ownership within the business.

03Results

The business achieved a successful go‑live within six months, marking a key milestone in the transformation journey. Building on this momentum, the Insight tool, originally introduced to replace manual impact tracking, was carried forward into the next phase of the global rollout for its real-time visibility and accountability.

The leadership team also identified three additional strategic programmes to integrate into Insight, leveraging the tool as a central hub for managing the wider change portfolio and fostering a more cohesive, informed transformation across the organisation.
